KITTY RAE RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘WHEN EVERYBODY IS SLEEPING’

Emerging Aussie electro-pop singer/songwriter Kitty Rae has just released her new single, ‘When Everybody Is Sleeping’. 

‘When Everybody Is Sleeping’ is a cathartic, electro-pop piece exploring the freedom of escaping reality through late night adventures. Inspired by hometown adventures with her friends in rural Victoria, Kitty Rae says, “I wanted to create that feeling when you’re out with people you love and you can let go of the pressures you feel in everyday life. There is a powerful freedom in those moments that I wanted to capture. This song is a big release, a big deep breath in and out.”

Taking inspiration from pop icons like Lorde, Billie Eilish and Vera Blue, this song is the latest glimpse into the world of Kitty Rae. The track was co-produced by Kitty & emerging producer Ryan Mangold in their humble home studio while both studying as Arts/Music students at Monash University. ‘I’m really grateful to be able to have a musical collaborator like Ryan - we’ve developed a really great workflow and I’m really proud of how we’re bringing my songs to life. The music is just getting better and better, I’m really excited to share it all with you,’ Kitty says.

Accompanying the new release, Kitty Rae’s single launch at The Workers Club, Fitzroy sold out within 8 hours. Supported by Alzzy & Araminta in an all-female line-up, Kitty Rae is passionate about celebrating diversity in music. “I’ve met so many incredible, diverse musicians through my uni degree and I’ve been really surprised at the lack of women, coloured and queer artists on lineups around Australia. I want all of my gigs to prioritise celebrating artists of different backgrounds and identities because there needs to be more equal representation in our industry.’

With plenty of new material to come from Kitty Rae, ‘When Everybody Is Sleeping’ marks the start of her new era and proves that exciting things are coming from this new Australian pop artist.
